Frequently asked questions
If you don't see your question here, contact us. If it's urgent (no heat or a major leak), call your branch.
- Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
- We offer emergency service based on branch: Smiths Falls provides winter emergency coverage for HVAC only, and Kingston provides year-round emergency coverage across services. If you have no heat, an active leak, or a safety concern, call your branch directly so we can dispatch the right crew.
- How fast can you respond to emergencies?
- Response time depends on call volume, travel distance, and the type of issue. If we can’t hit a timeline, we won’t promise it. Call and we’ll tell you the truth about availability and what you can do immediately to reduce risk until we arrive.
- Which branch should I call?
- We route by postal code and service type. Smiths Falls handles core HVAC, plumbing, solar/energy, and generators. Kingston handles those plus Kingston-only specialties like radon, WETT/wood-energy, chimneys and fireplaces, and more. If your prefix is shared, we’ll ask one quick question and route you correctly — we don’t guess.
- Do heat pumps work in Ontario winters?
- Yes — when they’re designed for cold-climate performance and sized for your home’s real heat loss. The most common problems come from poor sizing, ignored duct limits, or a bad backup heat plan. We’ll explain the trade-offs (hybrid vs. all-electric) and what upgrades are actually required.
- Is radon mitigation available everywhere?
- Radon mitigation is offered from our Kingston branch. Smiths Falls focuses on HVAC (without radon), plumbing, solar & energy, and generators. See service pages for details.
- How do quotes work?
- Submit a request with your postal code and a short description of what’s happening. We’ll follow up to confirm details and recommend the right next step — a service call, an assessment, or a quote. We don’t do surprise add-ons; you’ll understand the scope before work begins.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Yes — Denoco operates as a professional contractor and performs regulated work using the appropriate licensed trades. Where permits or inspections apply, they’re part of doing the job properly. Licence numbers should be displayed on the site once finalized.
