Job Overview:

As a Sheet Metal/Ductwork Installer at Denoco Energy Systems, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing ductwork and sheet metal components for HVAC systems in both residential and commercial settings. Your work will ensure that HVAC systems operate efficiently, providing optimal airflow and contributing to the overall comfort and energy efficiency of our customers’ spaces. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication:
    • Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal to fabricate ductwork and other HVAC components according to specifications.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to create custom ductwork solutions that fit specific job requirements.
    • Ensure all fabricated components meet quality standards and are free from defects.
  • Installation:
    • Install ductwork and sheet metal components in residential and commercial HVAC systems, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and secure connections.
    • Seal joints, seams, and connections to prevent air leakage and optimize system performance.
    • Install insulation, dampers, and other accessories to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the HVAC system.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on existing ductwork systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
    • Repair or replace damaged or inefficient ductwork components as needed.
    • Provide emergency repair services to address urgent issues with HVAC duct systems.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate effectively with customers to explain the scope of work and answer any questions they may have about the installation or maintenance process.
    • Provide guidance on how to maintain their HVAC systems for optimal performance and longevity.
    • Address customer concerns with professionalism and clarity.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
    • Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
    • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring all tools and materials are used safely and efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other installers, technicians, and team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior installers as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Relevant certifications in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC installation, or a related field are preferred.
    • Apprenticeship training in sheet metal work or duct installation is an asset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation, preferably in both residential and commercial settings.
    • Experience working with a variety of HVAC systems and components is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.

 

Working Conditions:

    • Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
    • The role requires physical activity, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
    • Must be available for occasional on-call or emergency service, including some evenings or weekends.
