Job Summary:

Denoco Energy Systems Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems in both residential and commercial settings. This role requires a deep understanding of refrigeration systems, including HVAC components, to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation. As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in helping our customers maintain optimal comfort and efficiency in their environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance:
      • Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, heat pumps and air conditioning units.
      • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of systems.
      • Diagnose malfunctions and defects in refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • System Troubleshooting:
      • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
      • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of refrigeration systems, including compressors, motors, and condensers.
      • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to troubleshoot and repair systems accurately.
  • Safety and Compliance:
      • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
      • Adhere to safety standards and procedures, including proper handling of refrigerants, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
      • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices, including EPA regulations and refrigerant handling certifications.
  • Customer Interaction:
      • Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, provide solutions, suggest appropriate upgrades and offer maintenance tips
      • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring timely and professional handling of all service requests.
      • Offer advice on energy-saving techniques and recommend upgrades to improve system efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
      • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, inventory usage, and customer communications.
      • Complete job estimates, time tracking, and service documentation in a timely manner.
      • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to report any recurring issues or concerns.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:
      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or technical school training in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
      • Valid Refrigeration Mechanic license or certification as required by local regulations.
      • EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants is mandatory.
  • Experience:
      • Minimum of 1 years of experience working as a Refrigeration Mechanic.
      • Proven experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential refrigeration systems.
      • Experience with HVAC systems and components is strongly preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies:
      • Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
      • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
      • Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
      • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites as required.
