Job Overview:

As a Plumber at Denoco Energy Systems, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. Your work will include the installation and repair of pipes, fixtures, and water heaters, as well as diagnosing plumbing issues and ensuring all systems meet safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation:
    • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, water heaters, and other related equipment.
    • Interpret blueprints and building specifications to plan plumbing layouts and determine the materials needed.
    • Install and connect appliances such as dishwashers, sinks, toilets, and water heaters to plumbing systems.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure they operate efficiently and prevent future issues.
    • Diagnose and repair plumbing problems, such as leaks, clogs, and water pressure issues.
    • Perform emergency repairs as needed to restore plumbing functionality and minimize water damage.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their plumbing needs and provide recommendations for system improvements or repairs.
    • Explain the operation and maintenance of installed plumbing systems to customers, ensuring they are informed and confident in their use.
    • Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and clarity.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the safe handling of tools and materials, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure all plumbing work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installation details, maintenance logs, and repair reports.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other plumbers, HVAC technicians, and team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior plumbers as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid plumbing license (e.g., Journeyman Plumber certification) in Ontario.
    • Additional certifications in backflow prevention, gas fitting, or related areas are an asset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in both residential and commercial settings.
    • Experience working with a variety of plumbing systems and fixtures is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.

 

Working Conditions:

    • Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
    • The role requires physical activity, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
    • Must be available for occasional on-call or emergency service, including some evenings or weekends.
