This Program was developed in the loving memory of Brenna O’Connor.

The HED Start program prioritizes physical health as the cornerstone of better cognitive function, emotional regulation, and decision-making. By addressing nutritional deficiencies and underlying health issues, we aim to equip at-risk youth with the mental clarity and stability needed to make sound, life-enhancing choices. We believe that good health is fundamental to better behavior and outcomes, setting the stage for long-term success.
The program takes a proactive stance, focusing on preventing problems before they arise. By identifying and addressing the root causes of poor decision-making—often linked to physical and mental health challenges—our goal is to steer youth away from risky behavior and towards a healthier path. This early intervention strategy tackles the issues before they manifest, reducing the likelihood of future crime and negative outcomes in our communities.
By integrating the HED Start program with Denoco’s net zero conversion projects, we’re fostering a dual-impact model that supports environmental sustainability and social betterment. Every conversion sale directly funds the program, creating a ripple effect that benefits both the environment and at-risk youth. Together, we’re contributing to a healthier planet, stronger communities, and brighter futures for those who need it most.
We see it as our duty to not only provide energy solutions but to also contribute to the health and sustainability of the communities we serve. By implementing programs that prioritize preventive health care, supporting healthy lifestyles, and fostering environments where positive outcomes are the norm, we can drive meaningful change from the ground up.
While we respect the role of government, we believe that the private sector can—and should—act as a catalyst for change. By taking initiative and investing in the health of our people and communities, we can speed up the transition to a healthier, more equitable future. This is not just about corporate responsibility; it’s about recognizing our role as stewards of the future and making the conscious choice to lead with integrity and purpose.
We urge fellow business owners and entrepreneurs to recognize their power to make a difference. By stepping up to the plate, we can collectively create healthier communities, reduce the burden on our healthcare systems, and set a new standard for corporate responsibility. The impact of these actions will not only benefit our businesses but also contribute to a stronger, more resilient society.
