Job Overview:

As a Gas Technician at Denoco Energy Systems, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances and systems in both residential and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of gas-fired equipment, including furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and fireplaces. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation:
  • Install gas appliances and systems, including furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces, and gas piping.
  • Ensure all installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform precise measurements and calculations to ensure accurate installation and system performance.
• Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Conduct routine maintenance on gas appliances and systems, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing for leaks or other safety issues.
  • Diagnose and repair gas-related issues, such as malfunctioning burners, faulty valves, and gas leaks.
  • Provide emergency repair services as needed to ensure the safety and comfort of our customers.
• Customer Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide guidance on the best gas appliances and systems for their homes or businesses.
  • Explain the operation and maintenance of installed systems, ensuring customers are informed and confident in their use.
  • Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and clarity.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of gas appliances and systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installation details, maintenance logs, and repair reports.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other technicians, installers, and team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Gas Technician certification (G1, G2, or G3 as applicable).
  • Additional certifications in HVAC or related fields are an asset.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and systems.
  • Experience with both residential and commercial installations is preferred.
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of gas appliances, piping systems, and safety practices.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, with the ability to work safely in confined spaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
