Job Overview:

As an Energy Installer at Denoco Energy Systems, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems, including solar panels (both roof and ground-mounted) and small wind generators. Your work will play a vital role in helping our clients reduce their carbon footprint and achieve net-zero energy. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and a passion for sustainable energy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation:
    • Install solar panel systems on rooftops and ground mounts, ensuring optimal placement and alignment for maximum energy production.
    • Set up and install small wind generators, including site assessment, turbine assembly, and connection to electrical systems.
    • Configure and connect inverters, batteries, and other components to complete the renewable energy system.
    • Perform precise measurements and calculations to ensure accurate installations and system efficiency.
    • Test and commission installed systems to verify proper operation and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Conduct regular maintenance on solar and wind systems, including cleaning panels, inspecting components, and checking for wear and tear.
    • Diagnose and repair any issues with solar and wind energy systems, such as electrical faults, mechanical issues, or performance inefficiencies.
    • Provide emergency repair services to restore system functionality when needed.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Work directly with customers to understand their energy needs and explain the benefits of renewable energy systems.
    • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations on system operation and maintenance.
    • Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and clarity.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including working at heights, electrical safety, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring all tools and materials are used safely and efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other installers, electricians, and technicians to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior installers or apprentices as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Relevant certifications in solar and/or wind energy installation (e.g., NABCEP certification) are preferred.
    • Training in working at heights, fall protection, and first aid is an asset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in installing solar panels, wind turbines, or other renewable energy systems.
    • Experience with both residential and commercial installations is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, including electrical components, inverters, and batteries.
    • Proficient in using hand and power tools, with the ability to work safely at heights.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.

 

Working Conditions:

    • Work is performed outdoors and on rooftops, often in varying weather conditions.
    • The role requires physical activity, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
    • Must be available for occasional on-call or emergency service, including some evenings or weekends.
